What is the name of the effect in photography where there is a darker edge to the pictures?

It's a vinyet or something? I just can't remember and want to do a photoshop tutorial on it!

What is the name of the effect in photography where there is a darker edge to the pictures?
It's called a Vignette or Vignetting

It can be caused by issues with lower grade lenses and it can be simulated in Photoshop to give pictures that old time look.

Many antique box cameras and the present day Holga camera are famous for their vignetting characteristics.

Here is a tutorial that shows how to do it with your computer and Photoshop: http://www.ehow.com/how_2272818_make-vig...
