What is the precise name of completely braided hair?

I don't mean cornrows those are braided tight near the skull. I mean the ones that just dangle loosely.

What is the precise name of completely braided hair?
We always called them "box braids"
Reply:pleated or platted can't remember.

Reply:Braid, that's all. If it's the one that is tight to the head but not in cornrows, thats a french braid.
