Even a President Of The German Reich


was named Friedrich Ebert.

Reply:Ebert is common in the germanic countries, and if you throw in the French Hebert, a real possibility, you've only narrowed thing down to western Europe, roughly. I mention this alternate possiblility because my own germanic last name has changed its spelling and pronunciation 3 or 4 times in the late 18th to early 20th centuries.
