What is the name of the rock that can create sparks to make a fire?

I am trying to find the name of the rock that can create sparks to make a fire. When you rub the rocks together, it can create a spark which can be used to make a fire. I know it was used in some small villages to make a fire to cook things.

What is the name of the rock that can create sparks to make a fire?
Flint was commonly used before the advent of matches to create sparks which ignited tinder. Flint is common in many parts of the world. It was also used as the "detonator" in early firearms to explode the gunpowder - hence flintlock pistols and muskets!
