It is luo han guo. It is a fruit drink. Orginal form is a brown ball.

The fruit can act as a remedy for sun stroke, wet the lungs, remove phlegm, stop cough and aid defecation

Reply:Hmm ... the only tea that I've ever seen pressed into a ball or cake is Pu-Erh tea. I don't know about the body temperature, but it is supposed to be very healthy and aid with weight loss. Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pu_erh

The picture looks like what you describe. I don't know if the taste is sweet, it's usually described as "earthy." I've only had a crappy one from a bag, so I don't know how the real one tastes.
Reply:I hate to say this, but many Chinese tea comes in ball shape:

Usually, only flower teas are made into ball shape, and therefore they will have a very faint sweet taste to them, not the typical fermented taste. I wouldn't describe any of them as very sweet. Jasmine tea is a very popular one which get to rolled into ball, but it is not the only one. I don't know any tea actually lower body temperature. Lower heart rate maybe, but not temperature.
