What is the name of the procedure where a surgery is done to lift disks that are starting to collapse?

It is when you have lower back pain that shoots down you buttoch and leg. The pain starts in your back and moves down. In the spine the disks are starting to collapse, and the procedure is to raise the distance between each disk from the other. It is some kind of substance that helps alleviate the pain

Are you sure you are talking about the discs? In osteoporosis compression fractures are treated by injecting a plastic material that tries to restore the original size of the vertebra. There is the "cage" which is a way to fuse the disc space, and there are artificial discs in trial. They are certainly not "substances". Usually the procedure is to cut away the disc material or osteophyte that is pressing on a nerve root and causing pain.
