What is the name of the current military boots?

In the Army what is the actual name of the boots they wear? And they call the army pants ACU Fatigues, right?

Just learning :(

What is the name of the current military boots?
The brand name of the boots differ - we have corcorans, belleville, altama, danner and so on. We mostly call them collectively "desert boots" even if they are of the jungle configuration (fabric sides, leather heels and toes) versus all leather.

We just call our uniforms ACUs (tops or bottoms). We haven't called the utility uniform fatigues since vietnam era.
Reply:there are different types of boots depending on the uniform. The ACU(army combat uniform) is worn with tan rough-out combat boots and moisture wicking socks. Commercial versions of this boot are authorized without limitation, fitting with the following regulation: be at least 8 inches in height, be made of tan rough side out cattle hide leather with a plain toe and tan rubber outsoles, and be without zippers, metal cleats, or side tabs. there is no certain brand that has to be used, they just have to meet the regulations, you can get them at most military stores. the other uniforms(dress blues, greens) require different boots that are black and also have regulations.
Reply:The ones they issue you are heavy, and have bad soles and are all around bad.

At AIT there are many different brands you can wear. I bought myself a pair of Altamas and swear by them. Light as a feather and soft. Theyre better than my running shoes.
Reply:I don't care what you call them.

I WANT TO SEE SOME SOLDIER OR MARINE SET A TREND AND START SPIT SHINING AGAIN!

General Sherman and Chesty Puller are spinning in their graves!
Reply:Fatigues haven't been used since th 1970's
