"Foo Fighters"
Reply:tip tanks?
Reply:what things? i need to know.
Reply:Foo fighters was the term attached to these items but they were officially classified as UFOs. Not all UFOs are the flying saucer kind. Most reports indicated a bright light or a ball of fire flying in formation with the airplane just off the wingtip, then speeding off to wherever.
Reply:Probably has something to do with extreme fatigue, not getting enough sleep.

.
Reply:St Elmo's Fire
Reply:Yeah its Foo fighters...

I am a private pilot and I experienced this once when I flying a solo cross country,, but it was about half an hour after takeoff so I was fresh,, I paid more attention and realized that it was some kind of glare due to sun..

Had I seen this after 2hrs into flight I am sure I would be betting my backside that its was UFO. Flying takes its toll on pilots,, I have flown long flights with my instructors in hot California sun,, near the end both of us feeling and acting as if we just smoked a pot..

And this is especially true about manual flying (planes not equipped with autopilot), So that can explain this happening with ww2 fighter pilots,, u can imagine them sitting in that loud, vibrating cockpit for hours under tense situation
Reply:Umm...hallucinations, distortions, fatigue...?
