What is the name of the locked box you can hire from at a bank to store documents and valuables?

Does anyone know how expensive it is to hire these and is it just banks or do building societies also have them? Would it be a different price with the bank I use rather than any other?

Everyone who has answered is correct: it is a safe deposit box.

The cost varies depending on the size of the box, and can vary from bank to bank. I don't know if any place other than banks have them. Sorry.

Hope I helped.

God bless you.

Reply:That would be a safe deposit box. You should get a better price if you already have an account with the bank. In the Chicago area these generally cost from $75 to $100 a year for the smallest of boxes which is suitable for holding some paper documents, coins, pictures, small hard drive, etc.
Reply:A safe deposit box , ive no idea as to price but i imagine most lawyers offices would offer this service ?
Reply:Safety Deposit Box and it would probably be cheaper at the bank you normally use
Reply:A safety deposit box. I'm afraid I don't know how much they cost (having never needed one!) but I'm sure it will be easy to find out from the bank.
