It's not by Lewis Carroll, but it's kind of about Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. It was written in the late 80s-early 90s. The 2 teenagers, boy and girl, have suspenseful expressions on their faces. I think she has a red shirt and he has a blue shirt. I think the premise is that they find a portal at their library that somehow connects them to the Alice stories.
