What was the name of the man that built a monumental home out of stone for his deceased wife?

It is a wonder as to how he accomplished this feat.

What was the name of the man that built a monumental home out of stone for his deceased wife?

Reply:I guess lots of people have done that. are you thinking of the Taj Mahal? it was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Sh膩h Jah膩n as a monument to his dead wife.

he didn't build it himself, of course.
Reply:Lots of people have done that, including Herman Goering; he called it Karinhall. He blew it up before evacuating to the south, but unfortunately the tomb survived the explosion,so the bolshies desecrated his wife's remains. It took her brother years of negotiations to get her bones back for a decent burial in Sweden. Why,who were you thinking of?
Reply:The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in white marble as a mausoleum for his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal who died at child birth. It is said that shah jahan was inconsolable and Construction began in 1632 and was completed in approximately 1648.Soon after its completion, Shah Jahan was deposed and put under house arrest at nearby Agra Fort by his son Aurangzeb. Legend has it that he spent the remainder of his days gazing through the window at the Taj Mahal. Upon Shah Jahan's death, Aurangzeb buried him in the Taj Mahal next to his wife, the only disruption of the otherwise perfect symmetry in the architecture.
