Name a band where the lead singer is not the most important member?

First band to pop in my head is AC/DC. They did equally well with Bon Scott as they did Brian Johnson but they need Angus.

Name a band where the lead singer is not the most important member?
I would kinda say Pantera, but thats only from my personal perspective. 'cause when i first heard them i wasnt that crazily keen on the lead singer, Phil Anselmo, but Dimebag's playing really stood out to me so i kept on listening to Pantera mainly for that, really. Phil's vocals WAY grew on me though (i love them now!!) but Dimebag has still always been my favourite member of Pantera and in my opinion, the most important member of Pantera. Though im willing to believe some may disagree, he's just the most important to me! :)

Reply:The only one I can think of that hasn't been said is Sex Pistols. Johnny Rotten was important but the band's most popular member is Sid Vicious, the bassist.

Vicious is known more in pop culture and for his drug addiction and murder/suicide in the Chelsea Hotel with his girlfriend Nancy. (Ya know, the infamous Sid %26amp; Nancy...that's them)
Reply:Alice in Chains. Layne Staley was a phenominal vocalist and con not be replaced, but Jerry Cantrell wrote most of the songs, besides being a great guitar player and doing quite a bit of singing himself.
Reply:The only one that I can think of is Santana. They have had many good vocalists over the years but Carlos Santana is the force of the band obviously... he could play with anyone and sound good... and he has shown that.

ac/dc may have done as well with brian johnson, but they sucked a lot more with him as opposed to bon scott. i stopped listening to them after bon died.
Reply:rage against the machine, poor zach overshadowed by tom morello`s guitar skills.

and

karma to burn there isnt a singer. lol
Reply:Blink 182, cause everybody is obsessed with Travis Barker, but nobody really knows about Tom and Mark

I agree with the ^ people who said Fall out boy and GNR
Reply:In Avenged Sevenfold, there is not really a most important member. They're all pretty equal.
Reply:Santana

They use guest lead singers and the most important member is guitarist Carlos Santana.
Reply:Wishbone Ash

They were known for the twin Guitars of Andy Powell and Ted Turner, not for their Vocals which were average at best.
Reply:Black Sabbath. All 3 major eras (Ozzy, Dio, Martin) were all incredible. The main DNA is in Iommi / Butler.
Reply:hm, i think FOB (Fall Out Boy) is. because Pete Wentz is a lot more famous than Patrick Stump and Pete is like the image of FOB
Reply:Fall Out Boy, because Patrick is the lead singer, but Pete is more famous.
Reply:fall out boy. pete is supposedly the most important members to others.
Reply:Rage Against the Machine.
Reply:Led Zeppelin... Robert and Jimmy were pretty much equal as far as stage presence and status in the eyes of their fans.
Reply:Led Zeppelin %26amp; The Who.
Reply:the beatles
Reply:Led Zeppelin...Jimmy Page was a fricken LEGEND.
Reply:the first band i think of is fall out boy.
Reply:Van Halen
Reply:GNR- Can't have the "Real" thing w/out Slash.
Reply:Rush, Neil Peart
